HOW TO HELP YOUR CHILD STOP WETTING THE BED
At the Nadeau Educational Center, we see children who have ADD/ADHD, children with Dyslexia, children diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Children with Learning Disabilities and children who are Developmentally Delayed. Some of these children also have a Bed Wetting problem. We see many five and six year old children with bed wetting problem. We see ten and twelve year old children with bed wetting problems. Sometimes we see sixteen and eighteen year old teens that still have a problem with wetting the bed. We have had two or three adults that were twenty-three and twenty- five years old who had an occasional problem. Obviously, this is a bigger problem for these teens and adults than for children who are only five or six years old. Wetting the bed is a neurological problem that is easy to correct.
When we are awake and conscious we are able to control or stop the flow of our urine, as it wants to flows out of our extremely full bladder. When we sleep and our bladder fills, the normal thing is, it wakes us up and we go into the bathroom to empty it. Then we go back to bed and go back to sleep.

Here’s what happens to the bed wetter. When he goes to sleep he goes into a Deep, Deep sleep, like he’s Dead to the World. He does not wake up easily. The bed wetter sleeps so deeply, that when his full bladder is about to burst, he cannot hold it, because he is very relaxed. Because the bladder is a Reflex Organ, once the bladder is full, it wants to automatically flush and empty. Think how hard it is for you to keep that from happening sometimes when you are awake. Remember he is in a deep, deep sleep, almost unconscious state. Therefore, he does not wake up when his bladder is full. He is totally relaxed therefore he wets the bed.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Place a Boom Box or CD Player by the head of the Child’s Bed so {he/she} can easily hear it playing favorite music all night long. As {he/she} gets into bed Turn the Volume UP loud enough for {him/her} to easily hear the music, but not loud enough to disturb others. Do this each night at bedtime. IF the volume is loud enough, the music will keep {him/her} from sinking into the DEEP, DEEP SLEEP that is common to the bed wetter. The goal is to Keep{him/her} at the same level of sleep that you and I sleep. When you keep the Child at this level of Sleep, a full bladder will wake {him/her} just like it does you and me. . . Here is Another IMPORTANT Step to Stop Bed Wetting. . Give your Child MORE SLEEP and REST. He Requires MORE Sleep than others. . Put him in bed an hour earlier at night or let him sleep later in the morning or take afternoon naps.
